CS2 Pets: Every Chicken Breed and Colour

Since the Rush Hour update of 22 September 2026, Counter-Strike 2 lets you hatch and raise a pet chicken. Below: all 40 colours of the three breeds, how to get an egg and keep your chicken alive, and what the HatchBook asks for. Everything comes from the game's own files and updates automatically.

Breeds and colours

Most colours are not fixed: each chicken gets its own random shade when it hatches. The images show each colour's base texture; the page of each colour says how much it can vary.

How to get one
A Chicken Egg can be one of the choices in the Weekly Care Package (Prime, first rank-up of the week). Taking it uses both picks of that week.

No. Eggs, feed and pets cannot be traded or sold on the Market.

Chicken Feed, also from the Weekly Care Package. An unfed pet leaves.
Lifespan
About 140 days after hatching, if fed (reported by players; the timers run on Valve's servers).

    Egg

    “Your egg will hatch soon.”

    Chick

    “Your chick will be a pullet soon. Enjoy the little one, and take some photos.”

  3. 3

    Pullet

    “Growing fast, colors coming in, and cleared to deploy with you. Get your photos in now. It won't stay this size for long.”

  4. 4

    Hen

    “A full-grown hen. You raised it well. Enjoy your time together.”

The in-game message for each stage, from the game files. Stage lengths (about 7, 22, 28 and 90 days) are player reports, not game data.

HatchBook: the photo each page asks for

The HatchBook is your pet's photo album. Each page has a hint for the photo that fits it:

Chick

  1. Your chick, up close
  2. Your chick, zoomed out
  3. Your chick in your hands
  4. Your chick at the Picnic

Pullet

  1. Your pullet in the Warehouse
  2. Your pullet on an official map.
  3. Your pullet mid-jump, in a party hat. Confetti and sparks optional.

Hen

  1. Your hen perched on you, in a filter
  2. Your hen kicking or flying. Lightning optional.
  3. Your hen in your arms or eye to eye
